Eddie has worked out for: the Sacramento Kings,
the Milwaukee Bucks, the Indiana Pacers, the
Utah Jazz, the Miami Heat, and the San Antonio
Spurs. He has also played in two NBA summer
leagues.
1998-'99 Hokies MVP.
During the 1998-1999 season led the Virginia Tech
men’s team in points per game (15.1), three-point
field-goal percentage (45.5—the university record is
46.7), and free-throw percentage (86.0). He scored
double figures in 22 games and at least 10 points in
all but three games.
He led the Atlantic 10
Conference in three-point field-goal percentages and
three-point goals per game. Near the end of the
season, he was ranked ninth in the nation in the
NCAA Division I-A men’s basketball statistics for
three pointers per game.

excellent player who can score off the dribble, and
the best thing-he plays every play with a passion."
"Eddie works harder than any player since I've been
here," said Hussey, who arrived in Blacksburg in
1991 as an assistant to Bill Foster. "Before
practice, after practice, you name it, in the gym or
in the weight room, Eddie is working on his game."

eligible guards in the 1999 draft, Eddie Lucas was
ranked #9 by TotalAction SportsNet. Out of the
10-best pure shooters Lucas was ranked #3 by
TotalAction SportsNet. Eddie was drafted by the
Utah Jazz with the 58th pick of the 1999
NBA Draft.
Lucas is the first Hokie
drafted by the NBA since 1990, when Bimbo Coles was
picked by the Sacramento Kings.
After the Chicago camp,
Lucas worked out for the Sacramento Kings. "He is a
quality young man who will make it because he is
talented and, more importantly, he has a tremendous
work ethic," reported John Wetzel, assistant coach
for Sacramento. Wetzel, who scouted in Chicago, also
said that Lucas was "the best shooter in the camp."
